Description

Soft and tender beef with a delicious homemade teriyaki sauce, served with broccoli and rice.

Ingredients

Teriyaki Sauce

Instructions

  1. Beef
    1. Cut beef into strips; cut against the grain.
    2. Add 1 Tbsp olive oil into a dutch oven. Heat on high heat.
    3. Add beef and brown.
    4. Add onion, garlic, red pepper, and fresh ginger; stir for about 5 minutes.
    5. Add teriyaki sauce (see below), sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
    6. Bring to a boil. Turn heat down to low. Cover dutch oven and let simmer until meat is tender, about 1 hour.
  1. Teriyaki Sauce
    1. Mix beef broth, soy sauce, coconut sugar, and honey together.
    2. Pour over beef.
  1. Thicken sauce
    1. When meat is tender, mix 2 Tbsps cornstarch or arrowroot powder with 2 Tbsp water. 
    2. Pour over meat. Bring to boil and simmer until sauce has thickened.
  1. Serving suggestion

    Serve beef with rice and steamed broccoli.
